Hunger Games Assessment #4

For my fourth and final assessment, I created a page of a newspaper. I chose to do this because I wanted to write the events of the Hunger Games in the Capitol people's point of view, and I wanted to get an idea of how the people of the Capitol recived the news. I created a newspaper page that was issued right after Katniss and Peeta won the Hunger Games. I briefly wrote about how the tributes from District 12 had finally won, and their love life in the Games. I also added an 'ad' at the bottom of the page informing people about the Vicotry Tour of the winners.

Hunger Games Assessment #3

For my third assessment, I made an identity chart of the Capitol. I did this because the Capitol is the reason why the horrible games exist, and I wanted to sum up what they were like. I picked five of the Capitol's characteristics, and I put a quote as proof for each one. I wanted the straight black lines that divide each characteristic to symbolize how controlling and strict the Capitol is.

Hunger Games Asssignment #2

For my second object, I chose to make a ticket. In the book it said after the Hunger Games were over, the arena was a great tourist site for the people from the Capitol. I chose to make this ticket because I wanted to create a visual on what the ticket for the death sites would look like. This particular ticket is for the death site of Rue. I made the ticket have weird colors such as the bright pink and blue to make it look like it was made in the capitol. "All the colors seem artificial, the pinks too deep, the greens too bright, the yellows painful to the eyes..." - p59.

Hunger Games Assessment #1

For my first Hunger Games Assessment, I drew a portrait of Haymitch. I chose to draw a picture of Haymitch because Haymitch, as the past Hunger Games winner and the mentor for Katniss and Peeta, is one of the main characters. I felt like he was one of the most important characters in the book. In the book he is described as being constantly drunk. I drew him in a state where he was drunk, but was 'fancied up' for the interview night before the Games started. I added the swirlie eyes to show that he was drunk. Around the picture, I put some quotes that described Haymitch's position and characteristics.
